The Copper Water opens the Mathew Kuruvila investigation series — a mystery set in the backwaters of Kerala, where a decades-old secret resurfaces and pulls a community's carefully kept silences apart. It's written with what Joseph calls "Copper Water discipline": restrained, sensory prose, controlled information release, and emotion carried through observation rather than statement.
